  • Ensuring federal commitment to local schools heavily impacted by federal land ownership through Secure Rural Schools law ($873,000 a year for Kittitas County schools).
  • Authored legislation passed by the House of Representatives to provide land for new fire station at Snoqualmie Pass.
  • Authored and passed law requiring federal action on new water storage in the Yakima River basin, including the proposed Black Rock reservoir.
  • Secured federal funding for Central Washington University wine quality testing and education program.
  • Supported local county decision on wind farms. 
  • Successfully pressed the National Marine Fisheries Service to move forward with repairs to Keechelus Dam.
